Senator Hugh Q. Parmer, a Democrat from Fort Worth, served in the Texas House of Representatives from 1962 to 1964 for the 58th and 59th Legislatures and was elected to the Texas Senate in 1982 for the 68th through the 71st Legislatures (1983-1989) representing District 12 which encompasses part of Tarrant County.
